Another tool, start-up funding for the preparation of research proposals by early career researchers (guidelines for the research pool), significantly supports the independence and further development of young researchers on the path to a professorship.
Both measures enable early academic independence and an alternative qualification to habilitation. The tenure track professorship replaces the junior professorship and also enables appointment to a permanent professorship, provided a positive evaluation has taken place.
On the path to a professorship and for further qualification as a new manager in science once the goal of a professorship has been achieved, we would like to support our scientists with offers that specifically address their needs.
In order to optimally prepare new managers for their tasks in the field of leadership in science and in particular for the supervision of bachelor's, master's and doctoral students, we offer an exclusive further training course on this topic: "Supervision as a leadership task". The event aims to enable participants to critically examine their own supervision experiences, learn about supporting tools in the context of international good practice and develop new standards of good doctoral supervision with the help of peer-to-peer exchange.
Other offers focus on individual measures, as at this very advanced stage of an academic career, needs vary greatly from person to person, time resources are limited and further training can be planned as individually as possible. These measures are
- the individual career coaching in which habilitation candidates and junior research group leaders are welcome to participate, and
- the New Appointee Coaching which is offered exclusively to newly appointed professors.
