ProDocTUC+ certificate program and ProDocTUC basic certificate program

For many young academics, the decision to do a doctorate marks the beginning of an exciting and discovery-filled qualification phase with independent research. In addition to academic work, acquiring core skills that go beyond specialist knowledge also plays an important role in the subsequent life and career planning.

The ProDocTUC+ certificate program and the ProDocTUC basic certificate program serve to further develop interdisciplinary skills within the framework of three modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of scientific work

Module 2: Personal and career development

Module 3: Didactics

The Graduate Academy issues a ProDocTUC+ certificate for attending courses amounting to a total of 144 work units (WU) of 45 minutes each. To obtain the certificate, students must attend courses in the following areas of competence:

  • Module 1: Fundamentals of academic work, comprising 48 units of work
  • Module 2: Personal and career development, comprising 48 units
  • Module 3: Didactics, comprising 48 teaching units
 

For the ProDocTUC basic certificate program, a certificate is issued for attending courses comprising 48 work units (WU) of 45 minutes each. At least 16 units should be achieved per module.

  • Module 1: Basics of scientific work, with a scope of 16 AE
  • Module 2: Personality and career development, comprising 16 units
  • Module 3: Didactics, to the extent of 16 AE
 

Active participation in the organization of subject-specific summer and winter schools or interdisciplinary events and the organization and conception of continuing education courses within the Graduate Academy are credited accordingly.
